A wedding planning reference

Wedding planning, by the numbers.

A citable 2026 reference for couples, writers, and wedding professionals. It pairs current U.S. planning benchmarks with a small amount of clearly labelled Denver context.

Updated October 9, 2026

2026 wedding planning statistics for Denver couples.

These figures are intended to make a first planning conversation more concrete, not to prescribe a wedding. National wedding results are labelled as national; Denver figures describe the local setting, not the number of weddings in the city.

Every statistic below names its source and reporting year, so it can be checked, quoted, and linked with confidence.

How to read the data

Useful context, not a template.

The national figures describe a large and varied group of U.S. weddings. A Denver celebration can land above or below any average based on guest count, venue, service style, season, priorities, and the people involved. The point is to give couples a credible starting place for questions, not a rulebook for the day.

For a cake, the most useful inputs are usually the guest count, service plan, design ambition, venue requirements, and the feeling the couple wants the room to hold. Those details make an early conversation far more helpful than a generic estimate.

Methodology & sources

Where these numbers come from.

The Knot Worldwide 2026 Real Weddings Study collected self-reported responses from 10,474 U.S. couples married in 2025. The national planning and spending figures on this page come from its February 2026 release.

The National Center for Health Statistics supplies the U.S. marriage count and rate from its 2023 provisional marriage and divorce data.

U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts supplies the Denver County population context from its July 2025 estimates. We do not use national findings as if they were Denver-specific, and we will refresh this page when its core sources publish meaningful new data.
